A back, a shape, a posture, are never really anonymous. In the contrary, we rather capture a sort of essence of one's personality, through a posture, an ambiance, clothes, hairstyle. So, a "Dos Anonyme" ("anonymous back"), is an atmosphere. - This project, I think, is a work of research on atmospheres. - I also think that we should leave a part of mystery, of imagination and appropriation, otherwise we stay passive facing the photo. This project is rather characterized by the invitation to put ourselves in the skin of this person, in its state of mind, getting back in the context and not remain a mere spectator.

The back is the mood, the truth, our hidden face, that we cannot control., the one that reveals and betrays us. The verso of our identity and not the anonymity of a faceless body. Because a person is much more characterized by its gait, its posture or proportions, than by its mere face. Shoulders, blades, neck length or hairstyle, are way more interesting for me, in the first place, than the face. The face is a mask, not the body.

So here we are, Anonymous Backs, is presented as a research around body language, the capacity it has to be imbued by an atmosphere, to inscribe itself and transcribe it visually, to finally generate a strong identity despite the anonymity.
